What makes you decide to review a book?
I don't review everything I read. Something has to spark a reaction strong enough that I want to put it into words. What makes you decide to write a review?

When I notice something the book is doing that I want to articulate. The review is for me as much as anyone else.
Either I loved it deeply or I was disappointed by something specific. Strong feelings in either direction. Neutral books don't inspire reviews.
When I disagree with the popular consensus. If everyone says a book is great and I thought it was mediocre, I write that.
