Dog ear everything. Books are meant to be used. A perfect unread book is less interesting than a beaten-up loved one.
I annotate in pencil. The marks are part of reading for me — my future self's conversation with my past self.
Bookmark for fiction. Annotations for non-fiction. Different books get different treatment.
