Do you read the spicy parts or skip them?
Honest question. I always read them but my friend skips every single one and she says she gets just as much from the book. Are the spicy scenes actually necessary?

I read them but I agree they vary wildly in quality. Some are cringe. Some are genuinely well written.
Skip. They rarely add anything the emotional scenes don't already convey better.
They're part of the emotional arc in good romance. Bad spicy scenes are gratuitous. Good ones reveal character.
