Reading non-fiction — do you read cover to cover or skip around?
I used to read every non-fiction book cover to cover but now I tend to read the intro, skim chapter summaries, and go deep on the parts that interest me. Is that okay?

Most non-fiction books are 30 pages of ideas padded to 300. Reading strategically is not cheating, it's efficient.
For narrative non-fiction (Educated, In Cold Blood, etc.) read cover to cover — the structure matters. For idea books, strategic reading is fine.
