Do twist endings make or break a thriller for you?
Some people love a big twist. Others find it cheap if the setup didn't earn it. Where do you stand?

A twist that recontextualizes everything you've read is brilliant. A twist that comes from nowhere is lazy. The difference is whether you can reread the book and see all the clues.
I've started preferring thrillers without big twists. The sustained dread is more effective than a single reveal.
