Urban transport service innovation

This volume amounts to a progress report on paratransit. The papers published here include some that were presented at the Transportation Research Board's Conference on Urban Transport Service Innovations in San Diego, December 5 to 8, 1977, and some that were presented at the Fifty-seventh Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board in January 1978. They review both American and Canadian experiences with shared-ride services such as car pools, van pools, shared-ride taxi services, subscription bus services, and dial-a-ride and demand-responsive services for special-need groups.
