Born in 551 B.C. during the turbulent warring states era in Lu Kingdom (today's Shandong province), Confucius has good parents who provide happy childhood for him. He is curious and studious, and travels around to learn from great teachers including once meeting with famous Laozi. When Kongzi grows up he tries briefly as a politian, but decides teaching to be his life time career. He has taught more than three thousand students, a few at a time, and seventy-two of them have gone down history, some from very poor back ground.
