‘Feminism in modern Urdu poetesses' is Ambreen Salahuddin’s research on Feminism and Modern women poets of Urdu, published in the year 2005, by West Pakistan Urdu Academy. This research work looks at the impact of the Western Movement of Feminism on the poetry of women in Urdu language. It includes several women poets from the year 1857 to 2000. Ambreen Salahuddin categorized the Urdu poetesses as per the categories of Feminists and traced out the forms of women’s consciousness, the notion of sisterhood, and the feminist methodology of consciousness-raising in the poetry of women Urdu poets. Some of the names included in the study are; Ada Jafferi, Shabnam Shakeel, Zehra Nigah, Parveen Fana Syed, Fehmida Riaz, Kishwar Naheed, Perveen Shakir, Mansoorah Ahmad, Yasmeen Hameed, Bushra Ijaz and Noshi Gillani.
