The individual assignments given in teaching draughtsmanship are of special significance, since doing them consolidates the knowledge the student has acquired from his textbooks, develops his spatial imagination, and teaches him to use handbooks, reference works, and other data in making drawings. The basic constructions involved in the individual exercises in this book should be done in class under the supervision of the instructor. This approach fosters the assimilation of the material, speeds up the making of drawings, reduces the number of mistakes in them, and ensures that the finished work will be promptly handed in. This book of exercises consists of 22 chapters, arranged in the order of increasing difficulty.
