David Suzuki has become a household name in Canada and much of North America. He has spent the past 40 years educating the public about environmental issues, both in the classroom and over the airwaves. In 2004, Canadians voted David Suzuki as one of the top ten Great Canadians.This resource is organized so that it: provides an historical context which enhances the studentb2ss knowledge of the past; uses familiar language, which enables students to use context cues to predict words; uses photographs to illustrate the text, making the words easier to decode; repeats sentence patterns, making the text easier to read; provides discussion questions that encourage critical thinking.
